Diagnosis:

Colour

Dorsum base colour pale brown with very dark brown punctations, giving the overall appearance of being medium to dark brown. Venter pale brown with medium to dark brown punctations. Head pale brown with darker punctations and some longitudinal black bands, connexiva dark brown to black. Legs and first antennal segment pale brown with darker punctations. Antennal segments II to IV medium brown and concolourous.

Texture

Densely and uniformly punctate.

Glabrous.

Structure

Body - Elongate-ovoid, dorsally convex. Length 9.1 mm -14.9 mm; width 5.5 mm -8.9 mm.

Head - Triangular to subtriangular, porrect (clypeus horizontal), as long or longer than pronotum; jugae shorter than clypeus, apically pointed, laterally carinate; antennifer processes absent; four antennal segments, but appearing five segmented, first antennal segment longer than distance between the eyes, inserted into head below mid-height but above ventral margin of the eyes.

Pronotum - Calli present but faint; anterior lobe surface flat; humeral angles angulate; lateral margins carinate; anterolateral margins faintly crenulate anteriorly and straight to slightly concave; posterolateral margins straight to sinuate; posterior margin straight.

Scutellum - Triangular, apex broadly rounded; Y-shaped raised area if present, very low; lateral calli present; medial callus absent.

Thoracic sterna - Prosternum very shallowly sulcate to flat; mesosternum with a low raised keel; metasternum flat.

External efferent system - Evaporative scent gland covering more than half the metepisternum; peritreme elongate, apically pointed.

Hemelytra - Macropterous, longer than abdomen; membrane veins linear and mostly parallel.

Legs - Fore tibiae sulcate.

Abdomen - Connexiva visible dorsally; laterotergites armed with small spines; abdominal sterna with a weak, longitudinal depression, or labial groove.

Remarks:

This genus is very similar to some species of Poecilometis, but can be distinguished by the presence of four (appearing as five) antennal segments.
