Temperate and subtropical regions; New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.

Host(s):

Platycoris bipunctatus, Platycoris brunneus, Platycoris fulvolateris, Platycoris musgravei, Platycoris palmeri, Platycoris rotundatus and Platycoris rugosus associated with Eucalyptus sp. [MYRTACEAE].

Diagnosis:

Colour

Dorsally and ventrally light to dark brown with darker punctations, legs and antennae light to dark brown and patchy.

Texture

Dorsally and ventrally densely punctate, some genera with areas of rugopunctation on the pronotum.

Vestiture

Glabrous.

Structure

Body - Ovoid, dorsally convex. Length 5.9 mm -10.7 mm; width 4.5 mm - 7.9 mm.

Head - Subtriangular, moderately to strongly dorsoventrally orientated, shorter than pronotum; jugae equal in length to clypeus, pointed apically, laterally carinate; antennifer processes absent; five antennal segments, first antennal segment shorter than the distance between the eyes; bucculae elongate (posteriorly beyond antennifers); vertex cross-sectional shape convex; labium longer than second abdominal sterna, first labial segment longer than bucculae; eyes not stylate, directed laterally.

Pronotum - Calli present and well developed; anterior lobe surface flat; humeral angles angulate to subangulate; lateral margins carinate; anterolateral margins simple and straight to slightly concave; posterolateral margins straight; posterior margin straight to convex.

Scutellum - Triangular, apex narrowly to broadly rounded and bifid; lateral calli present; medial callus absent or only faintly present.

Thoracic sterna - Prosternum very shallowly sulcate; mesosternum with a low raised keel; metasternum sulcate.

External efferent system - Evaporative scent gland covering up to half the metepisternum; peritreme short to marginally elongate, apically rounded.

Hemelytra - Macropterous or bracypterous, shorter than abdomen; membrane veins linear.

Legs - Fore tibia sulcate.

Abdomen - Connexiva visible dorsally; laterotergites unarmed.
