Diagnosis:

Colour

Dorsally and ventrally shining dark brown to black with or without a bluish or greenish iridescence. Lateral margins of head and pronotum, calli often yellow. Legs and antennae mottled medium to dark brown and yellow.

Texture

Densely and uniformly punctate.

Vestiture

Glabrous.

Structure

Body - Elongate-ovoid, dorsally flattened. Length 6.5 mm -10.5 mm; width 3.5 mm -5.5 mm.

Head - Quadrate, moderately dorsoventrally orientated, shorter than pronotum; jugae equal in length to clypeus, truncate and broad apically, laterally carinate; antennifer processes present; five antennal segments, first antennal segment longer than distance between the eyes, second to fourth segments sometimes flattened, inserted into head below mid-height but above ventral margin of eyes; bucculae elongate (posteriorly beyond antennifers); vertex cross-sectional shape flattened; labium reaching between middle and hind coxae, first labial segment equal in length to bucculae; eyes not stylate, directed laterally.

Pronotum - Calli present; pronotal collar present; anterior lobe surface excavate; humeral angles subangulate; lateral margins carinate; anterolateral margins simple and straight to slightly sinuate; posterolateral margins straight; posterior margin straight to convex.

Scutellum - Triangular, apex narrowly rounded; Y-shaped raised area absent or present but faint; lateral calli present and well developed; medial callus absent.

Thoracic sterna - Prosternum flat; mesosternum with low raised keel; metasternum flat.

External efferent system - Evaporative scent gland covering approximately half the metepisternum; peritreme short to marginally elongate; apex rounded.

Hemelytra - Macropterous, longer than abdomen; membrane veins linear and mostly subparallel.

Legs - Fore tibia sulcate.

Abdomen - Connexiva visible dorsally; laterotergites unarmed.
