Extralimital Distribution: No. Australian Distribution: Temperate regions; New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria. Biology: Unknown. Host(s): Aspideurus mcfarlandi associated with Callitris preissi Miq. [CUPRESSACEAE] Native Pine, Callitris sp. [CUPRESSACEAE]. Diagnosis: Colour Dorsally and ventrally mottled pale to dark brown with darker punctations. Legs and antennae banded pale and dark brown. Texture Densely and uniformly punctate. Vestiture Glabrous. Structure Body - Elongate-ovoid, dorsally convex. Length 4.0 mm -8.6 mm; width 5.0 mm -6.7 mm. Head - Subtriangular to subhemispherical, moderately dorsoventrally orientated, shorter than pronotum; jugae equal in length to clypeus, apically rounded, lateral edges carinate; antennifer processes absent; five antennal segments, first antennal segment shorter than distance between the eyes, inserted into head below mid-height but above ventral margin of eyes; bucculae elongate (posteriorly beyond antennifers); vertex cross-sectional shape convex; labium reaching between middle and hind coxae, first labial segment equal in length to bucculae; eyes not stylate, directed laterally. Pronotum - Calli present; anterior lobe surface flat; humeral angles rounded; lateral margins carinate; anterolateral margins simple and straight to convex; posterolateral margins straight to slightly sinuate; posterior margin straight to marginally concave. Scutellum - Triangular, broadly rounded; lateral calli present; medial callus absent. Thoracic sterna - Prosternum flat; mesosternum with low raised keel; metasternum flat. External efferent system - Evaporative scent gland covering half to most of the metepisternum; peritreme elongate, apically pointed. Hemelytra - Macropterous, longer than abdomen; membrane veins linear and mostly subparallel. Legs - Fore tibia sulcate. Abdomen - Connexiva not visible or only marginally visible dorsally; laterotergites unarmed; abdominal sterna II with an elongate, narrow, anteriorly directed process.
