Key to the Stink Bugs of Australia

This key enables the user to identify to generic level the adult Stink Bugs (Family Pentatomidae) found in Australia. The Stink Bugs are a cosmopolitan family of economic importance, often responsible for damage to fruit and vegetable crops. However, many genera are poorly known and require further study.

The key has been constructed from examination of preserved specimens held at the Australian Museum or loaned from other institutions, and from the information taken from Cassis, G & Gross, G.F. (2002) Hemiptera: Heteroptera (Pentatomomorpha). In Hoston W.W.K. & Wells, A. (eds) Zoological Catalogue of Australia Vol. 27.3B. Melbourne: CSIRO Publishing, Australia xiv 737 pp.

This key was created by Gerry Cassis, Emma Betts and Michael Elliott of the Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Research, Australian Museum, Sydney.
